  • 1  1/2 lb ground beef

  • 1/2 small onion, finely grated

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely grated

  • 1 tsp cumin, ground

  • 1/2 cup parsley, fresh, roughly chopped

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp pepper


  1. Grate onion and mince garlic.

  2. Chop parsley.

  3. Heat a grill to medium-high. Clean and lightly oil hot grill.

  4. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, onion, garlic, cumin, parsley, and salt. Season with pepper and mix until well combined.

  5. Divide mixture into 8 equal portions. Between palms of hands, form each portion into a 3-by-1-inch oval patty. Insert an 8-inch skewer lengthwise into each patty.

  6. Grill, turning occasionally, until meat is browned and cooked through, 6 to 8 minutes.
